Shillong: CM Conrad K Sangma on Sunday said his govt had adopted the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-GRAM G), raising guaranteed employment from 100 to 125 days and widening the range of eligible works, including rural roads, anganwadi centres, school buildings, livelihood initiatives and environmental conservation.The CM further said the state had received a normative allocation of Rs 1,100 crore for the next nine months under the new programme.Addressing long-pending ad-hoc appointments , Conrad said the cabinet had approved regularisation of services of 38 ad-hoc employees, who have been appointed on or before December 31, 2007, against sanctioned posts, in line with the Supreme Court’s one-time regularisation framework.The cabinet also approved an amendment to the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (Limitation of Functions) Regulations, 1972, deleting regulation 3(f), aiming to make recruitment more transparent, streamlined and merit-based.The cabinet further approved rationalisation of the promotional hierarchy under the Meghalaya Civil Service Rules, 1975, including creation of four posts of Special Secretary at Level 22 to expand promotion avenues for MCS officers.
