KALABURAGI: Allegations have surfaced that the last KKRTC bus operating on the Kalaburagi–Chincholi route has been plagued by persistent technical issues for several months, causing hardship to passengers. Travelling at night without headlights reportedly forced the conductor to use a mobile phone torch to help the driver navigate the road.A video of the incident has now gone viral on social media. The incident reportedly occurred on the last bus service from Kalaburagi city to Chincholi.The bus departs from the Kalaburagi bus stand for Chincholi at 7:30 pm daily and covers a distance of approximately 84 kilometres. However, passengers complained that night travel had become dangerous due to recurring technical issues, including problems with the bus’s lighting system.Passengers expressed concern over instances where conductors guided drivers using the light from mobile phone torches due to faulty headlights on the bus.Passengers who travelled on the same bus on Saturday night alleged that they were forced to travel in darkness and demanded that a new bus be provided for this route in the interest of safety.Students, employees, and hundreds of commuters from rural areas travelled along this route daily and faced severe inconvenience due to persistent technical faults.Therefore, the public urged KKRTC officials to deploy a new bus to ensure smooth and safe service on the Chincholi route and to immediately carry out necessary repairs on the existing buses, including fixing their lights.
