Times News NetworkPanchkula: Two men were found dead after two groups engaged in a clash in Sector 19 late on Friday night. One of the victims, Sanjeet, 20, was allegedly stabbed with a sharp-edged weapon. The attack took place during the naming ceremony of his newborn son. Police suspect the murder may have stemmed from an old rivalry, though the motive is still being probed.Around 4am on Saturday, the body of Arjun, a resident of Khadak Mangoli, was discovered at the same location. He had attended the function and was initially suspected in Sanjeet’s murder. Investigators are now examining the circumstances that led to both deaths.Family members said Sanjeet had become a father just six days earlier. A celebration was underway in Sector 19 when he left briefly for Abhaypur. On his way back, he noticed a group of youths following him and called his cousin Vipin, saying he was being tailed.Relatives began searching and found Sanjeet critically injured near the Sector 19 Industrial Area underpass. He was rushed to civil hospital, Sector 6, on a motorcycle but was declared dead on arrival.Police said Arjun had married Sanjeet’s sister, and tensions between the two families may have triggered the clash. Friends from both sides allegedly joined in, leading to the double tragedy.Knives are believed to have been used in the crime. No arrests have been made so far. CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify those involved.Sector 20 SHO Somvir Dhaka said investigations are underway and efforts are being made to trace the attackers.
