The plan also includes Umaji Naik and Lahuji Vastad Salve memorials, as well as the Khadak Police Colony.Rasane further proposed that the Pune Ganesh Festival be officially designated as a ‘state festival’ to promote it on a global scale. He also urged the govt to grant the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple ‘class-A’ tourist destination status.“The state govt should allocate funds for Pune’s Ganeshotsav on the lines of Pandharpur Wari procession,” Rasane said. He suggested that these funds be utilised for organising cultural festivals in Shaniwar Wada area, installing decorative lighting and arches, providing public toilets, and improving traffic management, parking, and security arrangements through the strengthening of the police force.
