Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will address a ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’ conference at Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath auditorium here on Wednesday, as part of his ongoing outreach programmes with different sections of society.Officials said the conference will focus on women-centric welfare initiatives and highlight govt efforts aimed at ensuring safety, dignity, and self-reliance for women. The CM is also expected to present a report card of schemes related to women’s empowerment and may reiterate his criticism of Opposition parties over their stance on the Nari Shakti Vandan Amendment Bill, which seeks to provide reservation for women in legislative bodies.
Earlier, the CM had announced a series of programmes in Lucknow on the issue on Sunday and participated in a ‘janakrosh padyatra’ from his official residence to the Vidhan Bhavan on Tuesday.During the conference, he is likely to interact directly with women participants and outline the govt’s vision on women empowerment. An exhibition showcasing achievements of the Centre and the state govt in the field of women welfare will also be organised at the venue.
