Gurgaon: Two youths, including a 16-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man, were killed after a speeding container truck hit their scooter near the Pataudi bypass on Sunday evening.Police said the accident took place around 7.30pm on April 20 when Ayan (16), a resident of Ward 12 and Mustafa (21), a resident of Ward 11 in Pataudi, were heading towards village Narhera on a scooter.Complainant Dilshad told police that he, along with one of his friends, was riding behind them on a motorcycle. The group had met shortly before and set out together.As they reached the Pataudi bypass, a container truck coming from the Safenagar side, allegedly being driven at high speed and in a rash manner, hit the scooter.The impact threw both riders onto the road, causing fatal injuries. The truck driver fled the spot with the vehicle. The scooter was also damaged in the collision.The injured were taken to the govt hospital in Pataudi, where doctors declared them dead. The bodies were shifted to the mortuary for autopsy and later handed over to the families.A case has been registered against an unidentified driver under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death due to negligence) of BNS at Pataudi police station. Police said efforts are underway to identify and trace the driver.
