Ahmedabad: A 16-year-old boy was killed after a speeding dumper rammed into his electric two-wheeler while he was on his way to tuition classes near Pirana on Tuesday morning. The driver fled the scene after the accident, prompting police to launch a search using CCTV footage and the vehicle’s registration details.The accident occurred on the Vishalla-Narol road. According to police, the teenager, a resident of Piplaj, had left home early in the morning on his electric scooter to attend tuition when the dumper allegedly hit his vehicle.The impact threw the boy off the two-wheeler, leaving him with critical injuries. Passersby and locals rushed to his aid and shifted him to a nearby hospital, where he died during treatment.A case has been registered against the dumper driver. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the vehicle’s route and trace the driver.The incident has once again raised concerns over the movement of heavy vehicles on city roads during peak commuting hours. Residents of the area said speeding dumpers frequently use the Vishalla-Narol stretch, posing a risk to commuters, particularly two-wheeler riders. The victim’s body was handed over to the family after a postmortem.
