Chandigarh: The Punjab govt has approved a relaxation in document requirements for beneficiaries below 18 years of age under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana (MMSY). “The govt has removed the requirement of a birth certificate during enrolment, reverification or addition of new family members in the case of minor beneficiaries. However, in cases where the portal mandates uploading of a birth certificate and the same is not available, an alternative procedure has been prescribed,” said a statement released by the govt. As per the instructions issued by the state health agency, an undertaking from the head of the family may be uploaded instead of the birth certificate. The operator must ensure verification of the father’s or mother’s name as per the Aadhaar of the minor beneficiary. Verification using either parent’s details will be considered sufficient, and minor spelling or surname variations may be reasonably ignored to avoid unnecessary rejection. Authorities have been asked to disseminate the directions to all operators under the Common Service Centres (CSC) and all Seva Kendra (SK) operators under their jurisdiction, and to ensure strict compliance during the ongoing enrolment drive.The state has expanded coverage under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana, which provides cashless treatment of up to ₹10 lakh annually for all families at govt and empanelled private hospitals.
