Kolkata: Two men on a motorcycle reportedly snatched an iPhone 17 from a 40-year-old woman on AJC Bose Road. The complainant, Manika Barman, a resident of Motilal Gupta Road, was standing on the footpath opposite the Maidan Police Station near Nandan, waiting for a bus to travel toward Ankurhati when the incident took place around 5.30 am on Thursday. The complainant stated that the accused fled towards SSKM Hospital on AJC Bose Road after the incident. The stolen device is a lavender-colored iPhone 17 along with its SIM card. Barman provided the International Mobile Equipment Identity numbers of the device to the cops to assist them in tracking the device.Officers are examining footage from CCTV cameras installed along AJC Bose Road and near the SSKM Hospital crossing to identify the registration number of the motorcycle and track the route taken by the fleeing suspects. No arrests have been made at this time. Residents have sought enhanced police presence in the area, at least between Exide and SSKM. Further investigation is on.
