Man assaulted, tooth knocked out over 3-day-old dispute in Juhapura area of Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: A 30-year-old grain broker was allegedly assaulted by four men, including one armed with a knife, in the Juhapura area late on Saturday following a dispute that occurred three days earlier near a mosque.According to the FIR, the complainant was passing by Royal Akbar Tower near Moti Bakery around 11.30pm when he was intercepted by a known local resident and three of his associates. The victim told the police that three days earlier, the primary accused had confronted him near Khoja Masjid, questioning his presence in the area. The complainant had avoided an argument at the time, citing ongoing religious observances, and left the spot.Police said the accused called the complainant on Saturday evening, asking to meet at the commercial complex. The complainant did not go initially as he was attending a religious gathering, but when he passed through the area later that night, the group attacked him.

The complainant alleged that the primary accused punched him in the face, knocking out an upper front tooth, while a second assailant struck him below the left eye with a stone. Two unidentified men also allegedly joined in, punching and kicking him.The FIR further states that the primary attacker drew a knife from his scooter and advanced toward the broker before bystanders intervened and restrained the assailants. Following a call to the emergency helpline, a police team reached the spot and shifted the victim to a hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case of assault and criminal intimidation under BNS against the two identified attackers and their two unidentified associates.
