Haryana to rank urban wards on performance, says CM, orders governance reforms, desilting of drains | Chandigarh News



Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday directed officials to speed up implementation of key public welfare programmes, strengthen technology-driven governance and complete desilting of drains before the onset of the monsoon, while announcing a performance-based ranking system for urban wards.Chairing a meeting with the CM good governance associates (CMGGAs) and senior officers at Haryana Niwas, Saini reviewed progress in solid waste management, human resources, water management, the National Education Policy and the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. He stressed time-bound execution of schemes and greater accountability in public service delivery.To improve sanitation, the CM ordered regular door-to-door waste collection, strict prevention of garbage accumulation and enhanced cleanliness at high-footfall locations. He directed the installation of GPS tracking systems and modern technology in all garbage collection vehicles for real-time monitoring and operational efficiency.Saini also called for greater participation of ward committees, directing urban local bodies to hold meetings every three months and create a dedicated online portal for citizens and committee members to submit grievances and suggestions.He instructed municipal commissioners to organise quarterly rankings of urban local bodies, while municipal corporations will rank individual wards. The best-performing wards will be felicitated at the end of the ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’, observed from Sept 17 to Oct 2. Outstanding sanitation workers will also be felicitated.With the monsoon approaching, Saini directed that desilting and cleaning of major drains, sewers and storm-water channels be completed immediately. He also ordered regular cleaning of street drains and lime sprinkling where necessary to prevent waterlogging and spread of infections.The CM also made the e-Office system mandatory at department headquarters and district offices. He directed govt employees to upload monthly work reports on the HRMS portal and asked departments to expedite pending issues related to the Comprehensive Financial Management System and the mandatory use of the ‘Intra Haryana’ portal.Saini further directed the strengthening of govt hospitals, expansion of district hospital capacity and wider enrolment under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. He also ordered the integration of patients’ digital health records, including prescriptions from private practitioners, with the Ayushman portal to ensure seamless access to treatment history.MSID:: 132034812 413 |
