MUMBAI: Two days after a verbal duel between Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut and recently defected Sena MP Sanjay Dina Patil, Raut on Thursday complained to Mumbai Commissioner of Police Deven Bharti asking him immediately arrest Patil under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for threatening that he would enter the homes of people who ‘bother him and hit them with a bomb’. Raut said Patil should also be booked for murder since he has himself confessed that ‘he has killed 5 people before’ and threatened that if anyone tries to mess with him, they must get their medical and life insurance as they will go to hospital or the crematorium.“I am drawing your attention to a serious matter. 6 MPs have become a subject of hatred across the country. There is immense anger among the people of Maharashtra against this split and people are protesting on the streets in various places due to the gross fraud of the voters. Protesting and demanding answers from the people’s representatives are the constitutional rights of the citizens. But the ‘spoiled’ MP from North East Mumbai, Sanjay Patil, has threatened to kill the protesters. ‘Don’t mess with me..Take out life insurance before protesting against me. I will send you straight to the crematorium, or else I will send you to the hospital. I have killed 5 people before’. ..There should be an investigation into who these 5 people were and when and why Sanjay Patil killed them. Since the accused confessed himself, a case of murder should be immediately registered against him,” Raut said in his complaint to Bharti. “If anyone protests against me, I will throw bombs at them. I will break into their house and kill them…Bhartiji, the threat of a bomb from the MP is worrisome, if he has made these bombs in his house, his house should be searched immediately. The help of the anti-terrorism squad should be sought for this. If he has received these bombs from any terrorist group, this should be considered a serious issue of national security and he should be arrested immediately under UAPA for his involvement in terrorist and anti-national activities,” Raut said in his complaint. “All his statements are evidence of his involvement in terrorism and criminal activities. Immediate action should be taken against him, otherwise I will have to appeal to the court for the safety of the people. There is an atmosphere of anxiety in the society due to Patil’s threats. I would like to specifically mention here that if any political activist is attacked or murdered during this period, the entire responsibility will rest with Sanjay Patil,” Raut said in his complaint.
