Mohali: Zirakpur police have registered a case against three men after a woman alleged she was sexually assaulted multiple times on the pretext of securing her husband’s release from jail.The FIR has been lodged provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Aamir and Imran, both from Uttar Pradesh, and Sonu from Karnal. Police said efforts are on to trace and arrest the accused.According to the complaint, the woman, a UP native living in a Zirakpur housing society and working at a private firm, came in contact with Aamir and Sonu, who allegedly claimed their associate Imran could help secure her husband’s bail from Amroha jail.She alleged the accused took her to Amroha, where she was sexually assaulted at a guest house in Zoya on Sept 7, 2025. She further claimed Aamir and Sonu had assaulted her earlier as well and threatened her against speaking out.The complainant said her husband was released on Sept 23, 2025, after which her health deteriorated and she was found to be pregnant. She later informed her husband, leading to a complaint in Amroha.Police said a case was initially registered in Uttar Pradesh, where medical and technical evidence were collected. During the probe, it emerged that the incident leading to the pregnancy allegedly fell under Zirakpur jurisdiction.Following interstate correspondence, the case was transferred to Zirakpur police on June 19, where a fresh FIR has been registered. Further investigation is under way.
