Chennai: Traffic Police registered 2,825 cases during a special enforcement drive conducted across the city between June 19 and June 21 to curb traffic violations and improve road safety.The three-day operation was carried out to ensure safe and accident-free movement of vehicles. A total of 355 traffic police personnel were deployed, with 122 vehicle checkpoints established at strategic locations. Surveillance was also intensified at major road junctions to detect violations.During the drive, police booked 443 cases of drunk driving and 110 cases related to over-speeding and rash driving. Another 2,272 cases were registered against two-wheeler riders for not wearing helmets.
