Mumbai: The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has formally transferred Targhar, Bamandongari and Kharkopar railway stations on Seawood-Belapur-Uran line (Port line) , along with associated railway infrastructure, to Central Railway. The handover was carried out by Ashwin Mudgal in the presence of Naresh Mhaske, a member of the Railway Coordination Committee. The assets transferred include station buildings, forecourts, commuter parking facilities, electrical substations, telecom systems and other infrastructure developed by CIDCO for the Navi Mumbai rail corridor. With the transfer, the responsibility for station operations, maintenance, passenger safety and service management at the three stations will now rest with Central Railway.“CIDCO has played a significant role in developing railway infrastructure in Navi Mumbai. The transfer of these railway stations and associated infrastructure to CR will contribute towards more efficient station management,” Mudgal said. The transfer is expected to ensure unified management of the stations under the railway administration and improve operational efficiency for commuters using the Navi Mumbai suburban rail network.
