93.36% attendance in NEET re-exam; 1,700 remain absent

Varanasi: NEET re-examination conducted by the National Testing Agency was completed successfully at various centres across the district. A total of 25,480 candidates were registered at 47 examination centres in the district. Of them, 23,787 appeared for the examination, while 1,693 remained absent, resulting in an attendance rate of 93.36 per cent.District magistrate Satyendra Kumar and additional police commissioner Shivhari Meena jointly inspected several examination centres in the city and surrounding areas, reviewed the arrangements and issued necessary directions to sector magistrates, static magistrates and centre superintendents.Kumar also monitored the examination across the district through telephonic updates. Conducted in a single shift, the examination was held from 2 pm to 5:15 pm.The DM first visited JP Mehta Nagar Nigam Inter College, where he reviewed examination-related arrangements with the static magistrate and the centre superintendent. He also inspected the control room to verify CCTV surveillance across all examination rooms and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements. Other examination centres were also inspected during the visit.District administration made comprehensive arrangements to ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of the examination. The DM had directed officials to maintain strict vigilance, with static magistrates, centre superintendents and assistant centre superintendents deployed at all centres.
