New Delhi: Elaborate security arrangements were put in place across the capital on Sunday for the NEET re-examination, with Delhi Police deploying hundreds of personnel, conducting frisking of candidates, monitoring centres through CCTV cameras and drones and securing the transportation of confidential examination material.Senior police officers said the measures were aimed at ensuring a fair and incident-free examination and preventing any possibility of malpractice. Across districts, inspectors were designated as in-charges of examination centres, while police teams assisted National Testing Agency (NTA) staff in frisking and searching candidates and maintaining security around the venues. Confidential examination material and question papers were transported under police escort, with escort teams equipped with long-range weapons, wireless sets, vehicles and other security equipment.In Shahdara district, two examination centres were set up in Vivek Vihar and Anand Vihar. Around 150 police personnel were deployed across the two centres.South district had six examination centres in Defence Colony, Andrews Ganj, Sadiq Nagar, Jor Bagh, Saket and Sangam Vihar. Around 20 police personnel were deployed at each centre, with strength increased at some locations depending on the ratio of male and female candidates. Drones were deployed for aerial surveillance, while entry and exit points were secured.In South West district, nine examination centres were placed under comprehensive security cover. A total of 310 police personnel were deployed. Centres accommodating around 480 students were assigned 13 male and six female personnel, while those with approximately 720 students had 15 male and six female personnel. Police personnel reported for duty from 7 am, and drones were used to monitor the premises.East district, which had 11 examination centres across Mandawali, New Ashok Nagar, Mayur Vihar, Pandav Nagar, Preet Vihar and Laxmi Nagar, deployed 15-16 male and 7-8 female police personnel at each centre. A dedicated control room was established, while CCTV cameras installed on school premises were monitored by police officers throughout the examination.In North West district, security arrangements were made at 10 centres, with police personnel deployed at every venue. Question papers were transported under police escort.Meanwhile, Dwarka district, which had 17 examination centres, deployed 312 personnel at the venues. Another 51 personnel were assigned for transporting confidential examination material and 10 at collection centres, taking the overall deployment to 417 personnel, including senior officers.
