Gorakhpur: The 12th International Yoga Day was observed by the Northeast Railway (NER) on Sunday, with a mega yoga session organised at the Railway Officers’ Club in Gorakhpur.The programme was led by NER GM Uday Borwankar and attended by senior railway officials and employees. Yoga instructors Jayant Nath and Jayanti Kumari conducted the session, demonstrating various yoga postures and guiding participants through breathing and wellness exercises. The trainers were later felicitated for their contribution to the programme.Addressing the gathering, Borwankar described International Yoga Day as a gift from India to the world and said it has encouraged millions of people to adopt healthier lifestyles. He urged railway employees to make yoga a regular part of their daily routine. He said yoga helps individuals connect with themselves, their thoughts, nature and spiritual consciousness while promoting physical fitness, mental peace and emotional well-being. Regular practice, he noted, can help reduce stress and improve overall quality of life.According to NER CPRO Sumita Kumar, yoga programmes witnessed enthusiastic participation across the railway zone, with employees joining sessions at various locations to mark the occasion.
