Ahmedabad: Teen grievously injured after being hit by AMTS bus in Nehrunagar

Ahmedabad: A 16-year-old boy suffered grievous injuries after being hit by an AMTS bus while attempting to cross a road near Nehrunagar on June 19. An FIR in the case was registered with M Division Traffic Police after the victim’s father lodged a complaint.According to police, the injured boy had gone to deliver a tiffin to his father, who works near the Manekbaug BRTS bus stand. His father later sent him to a tea stall across the road near Nehrunagar.When the teenager did not return, his father called his mobile phone. An unidentified person answered and informed him that the boy had been injured in an accident on the BRTS corridor. The father rushed to the spot and found his son lying injured with wounds on his face and legs. Bystanders had alerted emergency services, and the boy was taken to a hospital for treatment.He was later shifted to LG Hospital, where he was being treated for multiple injuries, including a head haemorrhage, a fractured jaw and a fracture in the right thigh. He also suffered injuries to his chin.Police said that an AMTS bus operating on Route No. 160 had hit the boy while he was crossing the road. The bus driver reportedly assisted in arranging an ambulance for the injured boy.The complainant told police that he was initially occupied with his son’s treatment and therefore could not file a complaint immediately. After obtaining medical information regarding the injuries, he approached traffic police.M Division Traffic Police have registered a case against the bus driver and launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident.
