Ahmedabad: A 49-year-old teacher was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a 13-year-old boy inside the school’s computer laboratory on Wednesday, police said. The accused is a teacher in a Dholka school. He has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Pocso) and for criminal intimidation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.According to the complaint filed by the child’s father, the incident allegedly took place between 8.30am and 9am in the school’s computer room. The complaint states the teacher took the student to the room on the pretext of a key-related task. He then allegedly removed his pants and attempted to hug the student, who managed to free himself and leave the room.The complaint further alleges that the teacher threatened to kill the student if he told anyone about the incident. The case was registered at Dholka Town police station on Friday.As the investigation began, the teacher went into hiding. Ahmedabad Rural police formed multiple teams and began tracking him using his mobile phone’s location data. Police said the accused was traced and taken into custody based on available evidence.He will be produced before a court for remand as part of the ongoing investigation, police said.
