Dhinakaran, Annamalai slam ruling TVK over unauthorised govt school inspections and social media reels
Former BJP state president K Annamalai on Wednesday hinted that his new movement could take a more aggressive political shape once it crosses 50 lakh volunteers, and explore the possibility of contesting local body elections.

Chennai: AMMK leader T T V Dhinakaran and ‘We The Leader’ founder K Annamalai on Saturday criticised functionaries of TVK for conducting unauthorised inspections, celebrating a birthday, and shooting social media videos on the premises of govt schools across the state. In a post on X, Dhinakaran said that TVK functionaries had entered a panchayat union school in Kunnur, Tiruvarur district, to conduct an unauthorised inspection. In another incident at a govt school in Idubavanam, a group of TVK cadres celebrated a member’s birthday on campus. He flagged a third incident in Uthiramerur, Kancheepuram district, where TVK members placed chief minister C Joseph Vijay’s photograph in a classroom to shoot videos for social media.Dhinakaran said these disruptions were a “direct result of state govt’s failure to act against political high-handedness”. “Such acts violate administrative rules that keep govt institutions functioning. The unwanted intrusion of TVK functionaries has stressed school officials and inconvenienced the public,” he said, demanding TVK leadership take action.Annamalai too posted about the Uthiramerur classroom incident on X. He said that while the school education minister has an uphill task of restoring the standards and prestige of these institutions, such actions by TVK cadres are further damaging the already fragile public schooling system.Annamalai added that being part of the party in office “does not grant anyone the licence to enter active classrooms and disturb students”. Expressing hope that CM Vijay will not tolerate such indiscipline within his ranks, Annamalai appealed to him and school education minister A Rajmohan to instruct party cadres to refrain from such activities.
