Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao said that people are frustrated with the two-and-a-half years of Congress rule and asserted that the BRS would return to power whenever elections are held. Speaking at a meeting of BRS party workers in Malkajgiri assembly constituency, he said people had come to a decision that only the BRS could bring good days back to Telangana and put Hyderabad’s development back on track. KTR said that under the leadership of Telangana’s first chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, development and welfare progressed hand in hand for nine and a half years. He recalled that before 2014, summers meant severe power shortages. “However, within six months of taking office, KCR permanently resolved a six-decade power crisis. The BRS govt earned recognition for spending Rs 1 lakh crore to provide round-the-clock quality electricity to both the agriculture sector and households,” he said. The BRS working president also reminded people that KCR was the only CM to resolve Hyderabad’s drinking water problems and provide up to 20,000 litres of free water to every household.Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy said development works worth hundreds of crores were taken up during BRS govt’s tenure in the assembly constituency. He said that after coming to power, Congress dumped the six guarantees, and its multiple declarations had been completely exposed. He accused the Congress govt of burying the guarantee card it distributed while claiming all promises would be implemented within 100 days. On SIR, KTR urged booth-level agents to remain vigilant and ensure that no eligible voter is removed from the rolls. He also advised them to enrol new voters who have turned 18. He alleged that there were suspicions that the BJP was deliberately deleting the names of voters whom it believe would not support the party.
