T BJP blames Cong govt for Metro Ph-2, IRFC loan delays

Hyderabad: Stating that the Congress govt was responsible for the delay in Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) loan disbursement issue and Metro Phase-2 project, BJP Telangana president N Ramchander Rao has said the CM was spreading lies and misleading the people. He said it was absurd, chief minister A Revanth Reddy wrote a letter to Union minister G Kishan Reddy seeking his help in getting an appointment with Union railway minister Ashwini Kumar Vaishnaw.Speaking to the media at BJP headquarters on Wednesday, Ramchander Rao alleged that Revanth Reddy had visited Delhi 71 times and met Union ministers at least 15 times.“The CM met Union minister Manohar Lal Khattar five times on urban development and Metro-related issues, met railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw three times, and also held several meetings in Hyderabad. On any of those occasions, Revanth Reddy had needed Kishan Reddy’s intervention to arrange those meetings,” he asked. He also said it was absurd for a CM, who met the PM several times, to claim “there are obstacles in meeting Union ministers”.He alleged that the letter was written solely to mislead the public. The BJP leader said Congress has no real interest in infrastructure development and only has experience in scams and commission politics. The BJP Telangana chief alleged that the Congress govt did not even know how to propose projects and has still not submitted the pre-feasibility report, financial feasibility report or DPR for the Metro project. He said it was false to claim that the Centre was blocking the project when the required technical documents have not even been provided. He clarified that the Centre was not opposed to Metro Phase-2 and has never rejected the project. According to him, this was not a “rejection” by the Centre but merely a “delay” caused by the state govt’s failure.
