Bengaluru: A “condolence message” turned into a disturbing experience for senior Kannada actor Doddanna S, as unidentified miscreants used AI tools to create and circulate a fake tribute post declaring him dead.The post circulated on the Facebook page ‘https://www.facebook.com/public friendnews’, creating confusion among his friends, fans and well-wishers.The 77-year-old actor stated in his complaint Monday that the post spread rapidly online, prompting numerous calls and messages enquiring about his well-being.He said the fake death announcement caused him severe embarrassment and emotional trauma and damaged his reputation.North Cyber Crime police, who registered a case under the Information Technology Act, said they are making efforts to trace those who created and posted the falsehood online.
