Hyderabad: At a time when the US-Iran war is showing signs of finally ending, Hyderabad is preparing to unveil Donald Trump Avenue — a road named after the US President. Scheduled for inauguration on June 23, the avenue runs alongside the US Consulate in the city’s Financial District.Chief minister A Revanth Reddy, had first floated the idea in Dec 2025, but the idea was kept on hold for some time amid the tariff war and later the war in the Middle East. The event renaming the stretch will be attended by US ambassador to India Sergio Gor and along with Revanth and is expected to feature high-level diplomatic festivities leading into America’s Independence Day celebrations on July 4.A senior govt representative said: “The move is expected to attract global attention as Hyderabad and the US share strong business ties driving investments, jobs, and mutual growth. The Telangana govt has taken a decision to name more roads after tech giants like Google and Microsoft with an aim to position Telangana as a symbol of innovation-driven India.”The announcement builds on commitments made at the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum and the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025, where Revanth emphasised honouring global corporations for their contributions to Hyderabad’s IT dominance.Over the past two years, Fortune 500 companies such as Costco Wholesale, Eli Lilly, HCA Healthcare, McDonald’s, and Nationwide insurance have established or announced global capability centres in Hyderabad. Other major firms include Vanguard, US Bancorp, T-Mobile, LPL Financial, and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. The state govt views the massive influx of GCCs as a significant strategic advantage in the coming years.“Hyderabad has emerged as the preferred destination for new GCCs units in the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) sector. According to the Nasscom GCC Landscape Report 2026, 50% of all new BFSI GCCs established in India in 2025, chose Hyderabad, driven by its deep financial services talent pool,” a senior official of the industries department said.
