Ludhiana: Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) conducted its Common Entrance Test (CET) today for admission to various undergraduate programmes for the 2026-27 academic session. A total of 3,703 candidates appeared for the exam to compete for 566 available seats across different courses, recording an overall attendance rate of 87%.According to PAU registrar Dr Rishi Pal Singh, the university had received a total of 4,267 applications for the undergraduate entrance exam. To accommodate the applicants, the university administration established 16 examination centres, which included six centres located outside the main university campus.Female candidates outnumbered male candidates during the entrance test, making up 53.88% of the total attendees compared to 46.12% males. University officials stated that this higher participation rate reflects a growing interest among young women in pursuing agricultural and allied sciences education.The university authorities appreciated the cooperation extended by the examination staff, the candidates, and their parents. This joint coordination ensured the peaceful and orderly conduct of the entrance examination across all designated venues.
