Bengaluru: Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (K-RIDE) has floated a tender for the construction of Soladevanahalli train maintenance depot for Bengaluru suburban rail project (BSRP). The project is estimated to cost Rs 200 crore.The proposed depot will support operations and maintenance of trains running on Baiyappanahalli–Chikkabanavara and Heelalige–Rajankunte suburban rail corridors, including corridor 4.The agency has already acquired 26 acres of private land required for the facility. The depot will include stabling lines, workshop lines, inspection and repair bays, and a fully automated coach washing plant.Designed as a sustainable facility, the depot will incorporate solar power generation systems and rainwater harvesting infrastructure.K-RIDE recently gave work order to Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, for procurement of 153 coaches for the project.
