Guwahati: Assam governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has summoned the budget session of the state assembly from July 6, an official notification said on Friday. The session will be held over a period of 21 days.Earlier, on May 21, the first session of the new assembly was held for four days, where the new speaker was elected, while newly-elected MLAs took oath and the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) was passed. The state govt will table a full budget in the upcoming session, which is expected to rollout govt schemes.Prior to the state assembly polls, the previous assembly had only approved a vote‑on‑account — a temporary parliamentary measure, which allowed the govt to withdraw funds from the Consolidated Fund of India to cover essential expenses such as salaries, pensions and interest payments for a six months.
