Hyderabad: To improve waste management, G Srijana, commissioner, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), ordered the effective implementation of four-way waste segregation, covering dry waste, wet waste, sanitary waste and special care waste. She also ordered the strict enforcement of the ‘No bin – no trade’ policy and called for greater accountability in waste disposal practices.During the meeting, the commissioner directed officials to further strengthen sanitation services in all wards and ensure the effective implementation of sanitation activities through continuous field-level monitoring. She stressed the importance of maintaining high sanitation standards and improving service delivery across the city.The commissioner instructed officials to ensure the daily operation of Swachh auto tippers and identify sanitation workers who were absent from duty for extended periods. She also directed officers to submit daily reports on fines imposed in accordance with govt guidelines.

She emphasised the need for extensive awareness campaigns to educate residents, commercial establishments and other stakeholders on proper waste segregation practices. The commissioner further directed officials to prepare a comprehensive action plan for the deployment and utilisation of sanitation personnel to enhance sanitation services. She also suggested examining proposals for the efficient collection and management of C&D waste and other bulk waste through on-call and scheduled collection services.During the review, the commissioner briefed officials on the provisions of the solid waste management rules and instructed all field-level officers and staff to strictly adhere to the responsibilities, procedures and waste management standards prescribed under the rules.
