Varanasi: BHU vice-chancellor Prof Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi on Friday conducted a surprise inspection of the Cyber Library Study Centre at the Central Library, where the librarian briefed him in detail about students’ study-related needs, current arrangements, and available facilities.During the inspection, the VC took stock of the facilities available at the study centre and laid special emphasis on ensuring a better, more comfortable, and conducive study environment for students. He observed that due to the increasing number of students, expansion of the study space and strengthening of modern facilities is extremely necessary.In this regard, he directed the Professor In-charge of the University Works Department (UWD) to prepare the 1st floor of the Cyber Library Study Centre at the earliest. He also directed that work be carried out in day-night shifts to complete it expeditiously, so that additional study space can be made available to students at the earliest.Additionally, the Vice Chancellor directed that Air Conditioning (AC) arrangements be ensured immediately in the remaining sections of the Cyber Library Study Centre and in the rooms of the sections of the old building of the Central Library, so that students can avail study facilities in a comfortable environment even during summer.
