Woman on way to get dialysis dies as truck rams into car on NH-8
The accident took place near Binola flyover

Gurgaon: A 76-year-old woman who was going to CR Park from Bhiwadi to undergo dialysis died after a truck hit the car she was travelling in near Binola flyover on Tuesday morning.Asha Diwan’s husband, who was in the same car, escaped with minor injuries.The deceased’s son, Ravi, lodged a complaint and alleged the truck was being driven negligently. An FIR has been registered at Bilaspur police station under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the BNS. Efforts are on to identify the truck and the driver, an officer involved with the investigation said.According to police probe, the truck hit the deceased’s car, a Maruti Ciaz, from the side, causing it to jump a divider.“The woman was rushed to a hospital but doctors declared her dead on arrival,” the officer said.She did not have any external injuries, the officer added. “She could have received internal injuries. However, the exact reason behind her death will only be ascertained after the post-mortem report,” he said.The couple lived in Kuwait till 2019, where the deceased’s husband ran a clothes and bag manufacturing business.In another accident, a 50-year-old motorcyclist died after a dumper allegedly hit his bike near Banjara Market in Sector 58 on Tuesday.The deceased, Jai Prakash, was a native of Hathras district in Uttar Pradesh. He was employed at a private company near Rajiv Chowk and was travelling to work when the accident occurred.According to a complaint filed by his son, Narendra Pal, Jai Prakash was riding his motorcycle, a Splendor Plus bearing registration number DL3SCU1821, from Faridabad towards his workplace near Rajiv Chowk on Sohna Road. Near Banjara Market, a dumper bearing registration number HR55AX1561 allegedly struck the motorcycle.“The complainant alleged that the dumper was being driven rashly. The collision left Jai Prakash seriously injured and damaged his motorcycle,” an officer said.Police said the injured man was taken to Govt Hospital in Sector 10A, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.Following information from the hospital, a police team reached the facility, collected the medico-legal documents and shifted the body to the mortuary for post-mortem examination. The victim’s son later submitted a formal complaint seeking legal action against the driver.An FIR was registered at the Sector 65 police station under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS.
