Gorakhpur: Around 250 youths and students participated in an eco-brick training and exhibition programme organised under the ‘Neel Gagan Purvanchal–Eco Warrior’ campaign, jointly run by Purvanchal Youth Welfare Association (PYWA) and Flyup Foundation on Friday. The initiative focused on spreading awareness about environmental conservation, plastic waste management and sustainable development.Eco-bricks are prepared by tightly filling used plastic waste into plastic bottles, creating durable blocks that can be used to make tables, stools, flower pots, dustbins and other utility structures.Organisers said nearly one quintal of plastic waste has already been recycled to create eco-friendly items and installations.More than 200 eco-bricks have been prepared so far and will be used in the development of a proposed eco-park featuring eco-brick structures, seating areas, artistic installations and plantation zones.
