Woman returning from BEd exam dies after falling from auto in Gurgaon, FIR against driver
The victim died during treatment on Sunday

Gurgaon: A 27-year-old woman from Bihar, who had come to Haryana to appear for a BEd examination, died during treatment after falling from a moving autorickshaw near Hasanpur on Saturday evening.The deceased, Preeti Kumari, was a resident of Khajuri village in Bihar’s Araria district. According to a complaint lodged by her brother, Abhishek Kumar, at Badshahpur police station, she had travelled to Haryana to appear for the examination at Govt College Bissar Akbarpur in Nuh. After the exam, she was coming to Gurgaon in an autorickshaw bearing registration number HR55AG2597.The complainant alleged that around 5.50pm, when the auto reached near the HP petrol pump at Hasanpur before the SPR traffic signal, passengers asked the driver not to drive rashly and at high speed. Despite repeated warnings, the driver allegedly continued driving recklessly.The complaint said that due to the excessive speed, Preeti fell from the moving auto onto the road and suffered a severe head injury. The front wheel of the auto also purportedly detached during the incident.Passers-by took Preeti to Ayushman Hospital near Hero Honda Chowk for treatment, while the driver allegedly fled the spot after the accident.Abhishek stated that he received information about the accident around 8.30pm on Saturday. He said he then contacted his neighbour, Sandeep Kumar, who works in the city, to assist with her treatment. On doctors’ advice, she was later shifted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi for advanced treatment.Abhishek and other family members travelled from Bihar to Delhi on Sunday. The same day, Preeti died during treatment.The complainant alleged that the accident occurred due to rash and negligent driving by the auto driver despite repeated objections from passengers.Following the complaint submitted on Monday, police registered a case under sections 281 (rash driving), 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS at Badshahpur police station. The investigation was handed over to ASI Yogesh Kumar.
