Chennai: A 66-year-old worker from Kerala died after being hit by a speeding car while walking along the roadside near Tiruvallur. Two others who were with him sustained serious injuries. The deceased, identified as Abubakkar from Malappuram district in Kerala, was working at a shop in Thandalam near Tiruvallur. He was walking towards Thandalam with two of his friends when a car approaching from behind reportedly hit him. Abubakkar suffered severe injuries and died on the spot. Two others accompanying him, Kabir, 57, and Sabir, 30, were injured in the incident. Police from Manavalanagar Station registered a case and launched a search for the driver.
