Ludhiana: Four mechanics repairing a broken-down tractor-trailer on Chandigarh Road were injured critically on Friday night when a speeding tipper truck rammed them from behind near Vardhman Park.Passersby alerted emergency services, and the victims—Jaswant Singh, Nathuram, Sheera, and Surjeet Singh—were rushed to a hospital with severe fractures and spinal trauma. Two others sustained minor injuries.The truck driver fled the scene after the collision, abandoning the vehicle. Officials from the Jamalpur police station arrived shortly after, impounding both damaged vehicles. Investigators stated that a formal first-information report (FIR) will be registered once the statements of the injured victims are officially recorded.
