Amrinder Singh Warring seeks clarification from Centre on fuel rationing

Chandigarh: Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring sought clarification from the Govt of India over reports of fuel rationing from different states. He said people were panic-struck as there was no clarification and assurance from the govt.Reacting to reports that fuel rationing started in various states, including Chandigarh, Warring said, “This is quite an ominous and worrying signal towards the times ahead.” “If we cannot manage enough fuel for our daily needs, it will lead to complete collapse of the economy,” he observed, adding, “the Centre and the Prime Minister in particular must take the situation seriously.” “While the situation in the country is getting from bad to worse, our Prime Minister is busy travelling abroad,” he remarked. The Ludhiana MP also demanded that the govt must convene a special session of Parliament to discuss the energy and economic crisis staring on the face of the nation. Referring to leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi having earlier warned the govt, Warring said he was consistently warning that the country’s economic condition was weakening and that the situation on the ground was not good. “Instead of dismissing concerns, the govt should honestly assess the challenges and take corrective steps before the crisis deepens,” he urged the govt, while adding, “imposing limits on fuel or asking people to avoid purchases will not solve the national crisis.” MSID:: 131174880 413 |
