Mohali: A 24-year-old woman died after falling from the fifth floor of City Centre-2 on Airport Road in Mohali on Wednesday morning, with police initiating an investigation to determine whether the incident was a case of suicide or an accidental fall. The deceased has been identified as Tanya, a resident of Durga Nagar in Ambala, Haryana. The incident occurred around 11 am at the commercial complex. According to preliminary findings, she fell from the rear side of the fifth floor, sustaining critical injuries. Bystanders rushed her to a private hospital in Zirakpur, where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment. Doctors confirmed that she suffered a severe head injury along with multiple fractures. Police recovered her Activa scooter and a bag from the scene containing her Aadhaar card, PAN card, mobile phone and a tiffin box. She was identified through her Aadhaar card, and her mother, Lakshmi, was subsequently informed. Family members stated that Tanya was employed in the private sector in Ambala and had not informed them about travelling to Mohali. The body has been kept in the mortuary for post-mortem examination.
