Man, brother die as car rams bike near flyover

Chennai: A 30-year-old man and his younger brother died after a speeding car rammed their bike on Sunday. The duo had stopped the vehicle near a flyover to attend a phone call when the accident occurred.Prithviraj and Kaviyarasan, 26, left from their native Thozhuppedu in Chengalpet to their workplace in Chennai on a two-wheeler. They had stopped their bike near Paranur flyover and were speaking on the phone when a speeding car hit their bike, throwing them onto the road. Both men suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.Police sent the bodies to Chengalpet govt hospital for postmortem. Police seized the car and are questioning the driver, Anand Meenattoor, 38, from Kerala. Police said the brothers worked in Chennai in the construction and electrical sectors and used to visit their hometown every weekend.
