Kolkata: With Suvendu Adhikari being sworn in as the ninth chief minister — also the first CM of Bengal under BJP, the change of power in the state was officially updated in his social media bio on Saturday. Amid the saffron wave, the words “chief minister” debuted in the bio of Suvendu Adhikari on his official Facebook and X pages.Mamata Banerjee, who refused to resign in protest, changed her bio note describing her as founder chairperson of All India Trinamool Congress and “chief minister of West Bengal (15th, 16th and 17th Vidhan Sabha).” The words former CM were carefully avoided in line with her ongoing protest.The BJP got a strong mandate in the 294-member Assembly, sweeping through 207 seats and bringing curtains on the 15-year-long TMC rule in the state. Former CM Mamata Banerjee, who came to office in 2011, has not formally tendered resignation from her post.
