NISCE ‘fraud’: Naga students’ organisation demands swift action

Dimapur: The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has demanded immediate action on a complaint lodged against National Institute of Civil Services Examinations (NISCE) managing director Suman Saha and his associates for alleged cheating, financial exploitation and mental harassment of students and abrupt closure of NICSE coaching centres operating in Kohima, Dimapur and Chumoukedima. In a representation to the Nagaland DGP on Thursday, the NSF expressed serious concern and deep displeasure over the inordinate delay in delivering justice to the affected students in connection with the complaint lodged against Saha and his associates on Feb 3.The federation said despite the lapse of considerable time since the filing of the FIR, no visible progress or concrete action has been witnessed. It appealed to the DGP to intervene personally in the case and ensure that justice is delivered at the earliest. It said the accused individuals reportedly collected full course fees from students while failing to provide the promised educational services as assured in the institution’s prospectus.Besides, the NSF said, the centres were shut down without prior notice, adding repeated appeals by the students for refund or completion of the course had allegedly been ignored through a series of excuses and evasive responses. The federation demanded that the investigation into the case be expedited with immediate effect. It also said all accused persons involved must be traced and brought under the purview of the law without further delay.
