Chandigarh: Haryana energy minister Anil Vij announced on Thursday that high-risk electricity lines passing over schools, colleges, hospitals, and public institutions will be shifted across the state in a phased manner. To ensure the work is prioritised, a dedicated monitoring cell has been formed under the chief engineer to oversee the project and submit progress reports to the minister every 15 days.The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has already identified and approved 27 locations for shifting 33 KV lines, with 21 projects (77.8%) already completed. For 11 KV lines, 1,299 hazardous locations were identified; 1,116 lines (85.9%) have been moved, while work on the remaining 183 is currently underway.Specific high-risk lines have already been successfully relocated from several govt schools in districts including Jhajjar, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Sonipat, and Ambala. The newly constituted cell, headquartered in Panchkula, includes senior engineers and sub-divisional officers to ensure the remaining feasible locations are cleared rapidly. MSID:: 130900444 413 |
