With 6,475 students, Surat tops state in A1 grade

Surat: Surat district topped Gujarat in the SSC results declared on Wednesday, recording the highest number of A1-grade students in the state, with strong overall pass figures and the Adajan centre posting the best performance.Surat has 6,475 students in the A1 grade out of a statewide total of 35,508, accounting for 18.24% of Gujarat’s A1 scorers. The district was followed by Rajkot with 4,262 students, Bhavnagar 2,434, Banaskantha 1,881, Ahmedabad Rural 1,780, Ahmedabad City 1,755 and Vadodara 1,582. A total of 81,652 students from Surat district took the Class X exams, of whom 70,254 passed. In the A2 grade category, 14,532 students from Surat secured the grade out of 1,20,280 students across the state, making up 12.08% of Gujarat’s A2 scorers. As many as 103 schools in the district recorded a 100% pass rate, marginally lower than last year’s 107. Two schools in Surat district has pass rates lower than 10%. Centre-wise, Adajan recorded the highest pass percentage at 94.93%, while Madhi reported the lowest at 60.22%. Several students from Surat featured among the state’s top performers. Ashadeep School’s Divya Makwana scored 592 marks out of 600. PP Savani School’s Yashvi Donga secured 587 marks. Ved Mavanni, Harsh Hadiya and Hant Dhameliya followed with 583 marks each. Twin brothers Vansh Gajera, who scored 581, and Vraj Gajera, with 576 marks, also posted strong results.
