Ahmedabad: AMC has invited proposals for landscape development and maintenance of thematic road corridors under a public-private partnership model for a period of 10 years. The project, floated by the civic body’s parks and gardens department, covers major arterial stretches, including Sindhu Bhavan Road and the corridor from Rajpath Club to Ring Road. Estimated at Rs 5 crore per corridor, the initiative seeks to improve the aesthetic appeal, environmental value, urban character, and public realm experience of major roads through urban greening and horticulture-based interventions.Selected developers will get up to 12 months to complete the development work, followed by a 10-year operation and maintenance period. To make the project commercially viable, developers may be granted branding and naming rights. However, AMC has retained safeguards, stating that at least 25% of the available advertisement rights within each project corridor must be reserved for the civic body free of cost. AMC is also seeking corporate participation through CSR, ESG, and CER funding channels.
