MLA Kamath challenges Congress to prove wrongful voter deletions

Mangaluru: Mangaluru City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath has challenged the Congress party to produce evidence of even a single case of wrongful voter deletion in his constituency during the SIR of electoral rolls, and demanded a public apology if no such instance could be established.Addressing a press meet on Tuesday, Kamath accused Congress of staging protests outside Election Commission offices and spreading false allegations about the SIR process. He said the revision was a constitutional exercise conducted 12 times in India since 1951 to remove absent, shifted, dead and duplicate (ASDD) entries. He alleged that Congress was attempting to create nationwide anarchy as it could not face the central govt led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.“Instead of staging dharnas, I challenge Congress leaders to bring at least 9 lakh people or even 10% or even 5% out of the 99 lakh ASDD voters deleted in Karnataka and make them file applications systematically,” he challenged.
