Lucknow: Anganwadi workers and helpers have started getting their increased honorarium ahead of Diwali, up from Rs 8,000 per month to Rs 12,000. Anganwadi helpers too have started receiving their increased honorarium of Rs 6,000 per month.In addition to this, 3.35 lakh Anganwadi workers and helpers and their family members are now also eligible for cashless treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh per year along with their families. The women workers will also get one additional sari this year, for which govt has already released Rs 500 per person.“To modernise the Anganwadi system, govt is also expanding technological facilities. In the first phase, 1,23,398 smartphones have been provided to the workers, and another 69,803 smartphones were provided under the replacement policy.”Additional chief secretary, women and child development department, Leena Johri said govt’s decision will benefit 1,75,982 Anganwadi workers and 1,70,656 helpers.
