Mumbai: Actor Tiger Shroff’s driver, Firdaus Ibrahim Baloch (48), who suffered a bullet injury during the attack on the actor, has been discharged from Nanavati Hospital.Baloch had sustained an injury on his left wrist during the attack on Oct 18. After the firing, Shroff took control of the car and rushed Baloch to Santacruz police station, where police assisted with taking him to Nanavati Hospital.Baloch, a Jogeshwari West resident who has worked with Shroff’s family for 28 years, was driving the actor’s BMW when two men allegedly opened fire. A bullet got lodged in the driver’s forearm and his right ring finger was fractured.A vlogger who was also injured in the firing, too, has been discharged from KEM Hospital after a prolonged stay. Umesh Chauhan (35) was admitted to the ICU on Oct 18 and underwent a bullet retrieval procedure on Oct 21. He was subsequently shifted to the general ward on Wednesday and eventually discharged late on Thursday.General surgeon Dr Ram Prajapati, who was part of the team that operated on him, said Chauhan required continuous monitoring as he had developed pneumonia. “He is able to resume normal activities. We have advised him to rest as he is still in recovery,” he said.Chauhan’s next assessment will be in a couple of weeks. Doctors said he had a lucky escape as the bullet entered through the space below the heart and the lung and did not damage any vital organ. Had it entered through a space just slightly higher, it would have impacted the heart and Chauhan would not have survived, said Dr Uday Jadhav, head of the cardio-vascular thoracic surgery department at the hospital.
