BENGALURU: CM D K Shivakumar has claimed that a visitor, an industrialist wearing AI-powered smart glasses, tried to conduct a sting operation on him and Keralam CM VD Satheesan.Bluetooth-enabled smart glasses come with built-in microphones and cameras for audio and video recording.In an interview to Kannada channel Asianet Suvarna News recently, Shivakumar claimed that a background check on the visitor revealed details of a broader conspiracy to target Congress CMs and ministers. He, however, did not identify the industrialist or provide any evidence on the alleged sting attempt.Shivakumar said the visitor first spoke about business, then moved to a private room, opened a laptop and started talking politics. The sudden change in the conversation, along with his glasses, made him suspicious.He further said the visitor did not wear those glasses while meeting Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and a Union minister. tnnDKS: I can understand a person’s intention just by looking at face He wore the smart glasses only when he came to meet me and Satheesan,” Shivakumar claimed, adding that he wore those glasses while meeting Karnataka minister Satish Jarkiholi as well.On why no action was taken following the revelation, his curt reply was: “Who said no action is being taken? You do not know because we aren’t making it public. When the time comes, I’ll say what needs to be said.”“I have a special power given to me by God. Just by looking at someone’s face, I can understand why the person has come to meet me and what his intentions might be. I know how to read faces,” the chief minister said.This is not the first time Shivakumar has made such an allegation. A fortnight ago in Delhi, he said there had been a sting attempt on him soon after he became CM. His comments came a day after Union minister and JD(S) state party chief HD Kumaraswamy had alleged that Shivakumar was the “master” of “sting operations” and had run a campaign to unseat former CM Siddaramaiah.
