Times News NetworkLudhiana: A group of men attacked an 18-year-old boy with sharp-edged weapons in full public view near Neela Jhanda gurdwara in division no. 3 area. Sources said the victim went there to talk to the accused, who had relationship issues with his (victim’s) friend. An argument took place, during which the accused attacked the youngster and snatched his bike. Police lodged an FIR against Jatin, Saurav, Deepal and eight unidentified persons on the complaint of the victim, Vansh, a resident of Shimlapuri. Investigating officer from division no. 3 police station, ASI Amarjeet Singh said, “Accused Jatin was dating a friend of the victim, Vansh. She recently discovered that Jatin was married and confided in Vansh, who decided to meet Jatin and talk about it. They met near Neela Jhanda gurdwara, where they had an argument. Both Vansh and Jatin were accompanied by their friends and all of them engaged in a scuffle.” He added that Vansh’s friends ran away when the accused attacked him with sharp-edged weapons. Vansh suffered a head injury and is in hospital. Police registered a case under Sections 109 (attempt to murder), 115 (2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 118 (2) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 126 (wrongful restraint), 351 (2) (criminal intimidation), 304 (snatching), 191 (3) (rioting armed with deadly weapons), 190 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common intention) of BNS. The ASI said that police got a video of the incident, which they are using to identify and trace the accused.
