‘MOTI’ initiative promotes community dog adoption in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A walkathon with community dogs, which saw the participation of children and interactive activities, marked the launch of ‘MOTI’ (Movement of Trust & Inclusion) initiative at Cubbon Park Sunday. The programme, organised by Bengaluru Central City Corporation, aimed to encourage the adoption of community dogs and promote coexistence.Four Indie (Indian mongrel) dogs were adopted during the event. Officials also administered vaccinations and distributed adoption kits, including dog food, collars, chains, and water bowls.BCCC additional commissioner (development) Daljit Kumar inaugurated the programme by placing water bowls for dogs, urging citizens to help animals cope with the summer heat and consider adoption. Additional commissioner (revenue) K Ranganath and zonal joint commissioner Hemanth Sharan flagged off the walkathon.Residents, animal lovers, and NGOs took part in a programme, walking alongside community dogs to raise awareness. Children participated in a painting activity that involved creating paw-print art on paper using community puppies. Paintings highlighting the need for adoption were also unveiled.
