Rajkot: A 35-year-old teacher in a private school allegedly died by suicide after setting himself ablaze at his residence in Rajkot on Sunday. Malaviyanagar police have registered a case of accidental death and started investigation.The deceased, Mitesh Teraiya, lived with his sister and brother-in-law near Ranuja Temple on Kotharia Road. He worked as a teacher at Gyandeep School.According to police, Teraiya immolated himself and ran out of the house engulfed in flames. Neighbours rushed to help and tried to extinguish the fire using blankets, but could not save him.Teraiya’s brother-in-law told police that he had been unusually withdrawn for 15 days. He had married seven years ago, but the marriage ended within two years. Police registered an accidental death case under Section 194 of the BNSS and are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
